Legislative Victories: Small Voices, Big Results
One of our greatest success stories is the collective power of our members’ voices. This past year, Chapter 881 members sent over 200 messages to Missouri’s congressional representatives regarding military housing and pay.
When the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passes with provisions for increased BAH or protected TRICARE benefits, it’s a victory for Chapter 881. Knowing that a local Airman’s email contributed to a nationwide change for the Enlisted Corps is the ultimate success story.
Professional Growth: From Airman to Leader
We’ve watched dozens of members utilize the networking and leadership opportunities within the chapter to reach their next stripe.
The “Mentorship Loop”: Recently, an SrA member of our chapter was seeking guidance on their first retraining application. Through a Chapter 881 social, they were connected with a Master Sergeant who had gone through that exact process.
The Result: Not only was the application successful, but that SrA is now serving as our chapter’s Membership Chair, developing leadership skills that are already getting noticed by their squadron leadership.
Community Impact: More Than Just a Base
Chapter 881’s success is also visible in the streets of Knob Noster and Warrensburg.
The Whiteman Global Strike Challenge: Our chapter played a pivotal role in organizing morale events for the competitors, ensuring that the “Best of the Best” felt the support of the local community.
Charity & Giving: From holiday food drives that fed dozens of local families to our annual scholarship awards, Chapter 881 has successfully funneled thousands of dollars back into the hands of military families and local veterans.
