Role:
The Chief Executive of the Chapter
Action:
Presides over all chapter meetings; oversees all chapter activities and committees; acts as the primary spokesperson for the chapter; ensures financial accountability; serves as the delegate to International and Division conventions; enforces adherence to AFSA bylaws.
Role:
Second-in-command
Action:
Assists the President in their duties; presides over meetings in the President’s absence; often oversees specific committees or retention efforts; performs other duties as assigned by the President or Executive Council.
Role:
The Record Keeper
Action:
Records and maintains minutes of all General Membership and Executive Council meetings; maintains the chapter’s official records and files; handles official correspondence; submits required quarterly reports to AFSA Headquarters; maintains the directory of officers.
Role:
The Financial Manager
Action:
Custodian of all chapter funds; maintains accurate financial records; pays bills approved by the Executive Council; prepares the annual budget and quarterly financial reports; ensures compliance with IRS regulations (e.g., filing Form 990).

Government Relations Expert
Action:
Leads the chapter’s legislative program; organizes “Legislative Awareness Week” and voter registration drives; coordinates letter-writing campaigns to Congress; arranges meetings with local elected officials (Mayors, Senators, Representatives) to advocate for military benefits and quality-of-life improvements.

Family Advocate
Action:
Focuses on issues affecting military families; coordinates support programs or events for spouses and children; serves as a liaison for family-related concerns within the chapter; ensures family members are included in relevant association activities.

Junior Enlisted Advocate
Action:
Focuses specifically on the needs and interests of the junior enlisted corps (E-1 to E-4); organizes professional development or morale events for airmen; acts as a voice for airmen’s concerns to the Executive Council.

Order and Logistics
Action:
Maintains order and decorum during meetings (parliamentary procedure); verifies membership eligibility of attendees (checking cards/rosters at the door); sets up the physical meeting space (flags, room layout); counts votes during elections.
Role:
Communications and Public Relations.
Action:
Manages the chapter’s public image; operates social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.); maintains the chapter website; creates newsletters or flyers; documents chapter events (photography/videography) to promote AFSA’s work to the base and local community.
